In the Capital (again)

On friday last weekend we went to the Vic, which is a brew and view theather. Matt and I are trying to do more things in Chicago now so that is one more thing to cross of the list. We were a bit hungover from Thursday so it was a very relaxed time at the brew and view and we were home and tucked into bed by midnight. On saturday I played in a floorball tournament. It was 3 teams of girls and 4 teams of boys. We all played each other and I have to say that our team got schooled when we played the boys team.. Oh well, it was fun and after that I did not want to leave the sofa the rest of the day. Today I actually went to Washington D.C for a meeting tomorrow. It is an all day meeting and I will be heading back home tomorrow already. I really think D.C is a beautiful city and it is so much warmer here. It is probably still mid 70s (25 C) and it is close to 9.00 pm. I need to go over the presentation that I am doing tomorrow so I need to get off this site now..

Cubs game and the first tan of the year

Thursday last week we took the day off and went to see the cubs game. The weather was great, actually a bit warm and I got my first suntan.. yes, my nose is still peeling a week later. The cubs unfortunatly lost. which seem to happen when I go to games.. maybe I am their unlucky charm and should stay away from actually going to the games. Even though they lost it was a great day with friends, beer, nachos and lots of sunshine... much better then spending my day in the cube doing 'work' all day.

Big Easy, Wicked, and Matt and Sara's Birthday Party

So I only worked 2 days last week in the office then I went to New Orleans for a conference. I took Matt with me since it was his birthday, he had never been there and mainly because I am a pretty nice wife. Our flight was delayed so we only got a couple of hours of sleep before we started off with an Alligator Safari trip in New Orleans. We had a blast and got to hold some alligators. Wednesday night we went out on Bourbon street.. drank hurricans and danced to live music. Matt was hurting the next day but I got him to go on some tours while I was working the booth at the conference. That night we again returned to bourboun street but more food than drinks this time. We flew back on Friday. I ended up meeting up with my friend Tracy at Midway airport. She was in town for the birthday parties. It was great having guest over for the weekend. Saturday was a day just filled of fun. We first went to my favorite brunch place 'Tre Kronor'. I am not sure Tracy and Greg was as impressed as I am of that place. I am a bit partial to the Swedish food. Then we headed to the Oriental Theather to see the show Wicked. It was so good! You have to go see it. I am a bit of an ice queen sometimes but I was even shedding tears at the end. After that we headed to dinner. My brother and his wife came to join us and then we spent the rest of the night dancing & chatting at the bar. I did so many things Saturday that I did not feel guilty at all about sitting on the couch in my PJs all day Sunday.

Fast times in Sweden

I went back to Sweden for a sumer quick trip but had lots of fun and it was so great to get to see family and friends. I took of on Tuesday night (April 1) and landed in Malmo (southern Sweden) in the afternoon on Wednesday. I spent a day there where I hung out with my sister and my niece then I headed up to Stockholm and flew back on Sunday. I got to see most of my friends. I got to see my friend Leila's adorable little son, Adrian. I went shopping in the city and hung out with Paula, Sara and was treated to a great dinner by Sophia. It was great to see my parents and grandparents. However, I do wish that people did not age and wish them all the health and wish that I lived closer to them. I got back Sunday and felt like I had not slept in a week and I am still jet lagged but today I go to New Orleans for a conference. Matt is going with me since it is his birthday tomorrow and I am treating him to a swamp tour tomorrow. Hurray for warm weather and some good food.
I miss everyone in Sweden already!
