Wedding photographer

This weekend we went to Des Moines for our friends Traci and Steve's wedding. It was a supersweet wedding with the corn fields in the background, cowboys two stepping, friends rocking out to 80s music, and fireworks. Matt was actually asked to do the photos at the wedding and I know that he was nervous since this was his first real official 'job' as a photographer. He was very professional and he even dressed the part as you can see from the photo. I just posted some of my favorite photos from the wedding. By the way, Traci's favorite movie is "Roman Holiday" if you wonder about the photo below...

Colorado

Euro Soccer and Beach

I did a million things on June 14, one of the was to watch the Sweden game at Fado. It was a good time up to that last minute of the game when they lost, after that I headed to the beach to finally start working on my tan. North avenue beach is probably one of my favorite things with Chicago. After that we went to a street festival and we ended that night at a bar to celebrate our friend Natalie's birthday. It was a day fun of tons of fun.

Condo issue...

So, I have been trying to not use this blog for posting to personal issues or complaints.. but now I am going to break that rule. If you don't want to hear me whine please stop reading. We have been trying to sell our condo for over 3 months now and I was really optimistic going into it this year. We went with a good realtor, we have an awesome place (yes, not just me saying that), and we have lowered the price etc. The time crunsh, as you know, is that we will be moving to Sweden in August and we were thinking that since we almost had some takers last year at a higher price trying to sell it on our own that it would be ok. I was wrong. The market really sucks and I think I have been avoiding complaining about it due to thinking for some odd reason that it would give me bad luck.. well, now I am complaining about it.. What the hell is up with the market. It looks like we have to be paying for the condo even if we don't live there. We wouldn't be able to rent it out to cover our expenses. Yes, another thing that really sucks.. I have been starting to get really anxious and worried about this since we are getting close to our move and I am not sure at all how long we can pay for the condo here in Chicago and also rent a place in Sweden. We will run out of money. To use quotes from a Swedish authors Linda Skugge when she was worrying about losing her job, but I will change it to not selling a condo.. "Not selling condo -> not able to pay for condo -> bill collectors -> lose all money /homeless -> start begging for money on the street -> start doing 'favors' to people since I am not good at begging -> have to start doing drugs to cope with doing 'favors' -> Die". Please someone buy my condo otherwise I will die. :)

Kubb tournament

Saturday we went to Belmont harbor to participate in a kubb tournament. The old Swedish viking game. Just because I am Swedish doesn't mean I am good at it. I was still pretty bad. Luckily I had Matt and my friend Jodie on the team that are a lot better at the game than I am. We did not end up dead last and I do blame one of the courts for our loss. But that aside it was a lot of fun. After the kubb tournament we headed to wrigleywille and met up with our friends that were celebrating Kristi's birthday. Kristi looks pretty happy on the photo here and I have to say that she did not last much longer that night after this photo was taken. The other thing we did this weekend was to dodge all the crazy storms this weekend. Winds, rain, flooding, tornados and other scary things. We had an open house on Sunday and of course it starting storming about 10 min into it. It seems like we are cursed with bad weather at each open house.

SATC x 2

I have already been to see the movie twice in three days and I LOVE it! I am now trying to get my husband to go with me so I can go see it again...

Bachelorette Party in Galena

Last weekend was a girls weekend in Galena, IL. Galena is a really cute town in NorthEast Illinois and this was a suprise bachelorette party. The house was great and we had a hot tub. It ended up being about 20 girls and we walked around in adorable downtown Galena, went on a vinyard tour and went out to eat lots of good food. The weekend was filled with lots of girl talk and fun times.
It felt so good to just get a way for the weekend and just hang out, however, I did not get that much sleep so I was really excited to come home to my own bed on Sunday. Congrats to my friend Traci who will be married in a month! Looking forward to it.
